Me

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with over 20 years experience in the field of social work. I earned my Master of Social Work (MSW) degree in 2001 from Clark Atlanta University and went on to obtain my PhD in Social Work from the University of Tennessee in 2007.

I spent the beginning years of my career working with children and adolescents who were abused and neglected. This work remains the foundation for my love of working with adolescents and youth experiencing developmental challenges as they navigate the transition from childhood to adolescence and young adulthood. I am dedicated to helping my young clients develop the necessary skills to successfully complete this developmental stage.

Over the last two decades my work has focused on the unique needs of women and girls, especially as it pertains to their mental and reproductive health. This includes providing compassionate, evidence-based support to women and girls navigating the complex impacts of violence on their mental and reproductive health, while also exploring the intersection of infertility and its effects on the mental health of BIPOC women.

My personal experience as a mother of a child with special needs and navigating the often overwhelming stressors associated with it drives my desire and determination to support other parents and caregivers experiencing parental stress. I can offer guidance and strategies to help you navigate the intricacies of caregiving/parenting.
